• Angel Perez, Wings of Hope Scholarship

    Follow-up.

Do you recall in our 2017 Global Issue where we shared Angel Perez's story, Wings of Hope? It was a heartbreaking story of a young man—new father, son, and friend—who had succumbed to suicide. We see it in the news all too often. Angel's parents, Monica and John, lost their only son. They and their surviving children, five beautiful young ladies, continue to be in mourning and will be for the remainder of their lives. Daily coping just wasn't enough; they had to do something, to show others like Angel that they aren't alone, and there are options.

Monica created a scholarship foundation in Angel’s name, the Angel Perez Wings of Hope Scholarship. These scholarships are $500 each and the number offered depends on the amount of money raised. The majority of these funds are raised during the annual Car and Shine Show in Globe, AZ

September 30th from 12pm to 5pm, come to downtown Globe, Arizona, and check out an array of amazing cars and motorcycles, and help spread awareness of suicide prevention and celebrate the life of Angel Perez and others who have succumbed to suicide.

If you would like to donate to The Angel Perez Wings of Hope Scholarship Fund, please contact Monica. All monies go toward the Scholarship. In addition, if you would like to become a vendor (please have insurance), a volunteer, or donate items for raffle in the Show-N-Shine, or if you are interested in showing/entering your ride for the event on September 30th, 2017, please contact Monica via email at ajpwingsofhope@gmail.com.  If you, a friend, or a loved one suffers from depression, or you are having suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255
